Alice Parker (b. 1925) is an American composer whose compositions and arrangements with Robert Shaw are legendary in the realm of choral music. Parker specialized arrangements of American Folk Music and Spirituals. In an evening dedicated solely to the works of Parker, AMC performed many of her most memorable arrangements including Ride On, King Jesus, John Saw Duh Numbuh, Hark I Hear the Harps Eternal, Goin' to Boston, among many others.
Based upon a medley by the same name, A Symphony of Carols explored the origins of the Christmas Carol with choral arrangements of some of the most beloved carols of the season including God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Silent Night, Deck the Hall, O Come Emmanuel, It Came Upon the Midnight Clear and others.
From the mind of one of America's foremost conductors and composers, AMC presented some of the best known compositions and arrangements of Dr. Mack Wilberg, the Director of Music of the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, formerly the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. With Dr. Wilberg as guest conductor at the helm, AMC presented some of his most popular secular arrangements of American Folk Songs including, I'm Goin' Away, Shenandoah, and Cindy, along with some of his greatest sacred arrangements such as Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, Love Divine, All Loves Excelling, and Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing.
Performing in various cathedrals in Paris and Barcelona with music both Secular and Sacred of Brahms, Vierne, Gabrieli, and others.
2017-2018 SEASON
A free concert for all featuring the Arlington Community Band and guests of the Arlington Master Chorale. Such favorites as Yankee Doodle, God Bless America, and Battle Hymn of the Republic.
The wonderful, emotion-provoking compositions of Z. Randall Stroope including a piece composed for the Arlington Master Chorale made possible by a grant from the Arlington Cultural Tourism Council.
A fun collection of Broadway favorites from Sweet Charity, Funny Girl, South Pacific, and more with the Arlington Master Chorale and our own “Fling Combo” instrumentals.
Our annual Christmas Concert including holiday favorites as Deck the Hall, It came Upon the Midnight Clear, and God Rest Ye, with a special performance by the Arlington Children’s Chorus.
